Enjoying a few pictures
A lot of work has been done on the car now. And this is not finished. But with the car dropped in a friend’s place for some check-up I let you enjoy some pictures of the CRX under the sun !
Drive trains view from below.
You can see the installed homemade carbon intake. The area that has been mainly modified is in between the distributor and the fusebox. There is now enough room to create the big volume box around the filter !
Something else created under my ‘carbon fiber madness : a full carbon dashboard. Only the main part here but already reaching the goal : very light. This dashboard part weights only around 800 grams.
Another one.

So … we start with some Noodles 🙂 ?
I spent hours reading books trying to understand something to engine tuning … and this is really something you have to let to real professionals !!
After checking ignition timing definitely, I started to make first adjustments on fuel maps and got a good 14.7 AFR at idle.
Then the procedure is really serious to not damage your engine. After tests and step by step tuning I was finally able to get an AFR between 14.5 and 14.9 under 50% load.
I had to make big modifications for the range from 50% to 80% load but got some really good results. Ignition advance remains stock as I feel not able to change it (be careful with detonation !!). Some VTEC engage attempts were made to check everything and the car is now secured for starts, idle and normal driving on low cams.
Sometime I feel a little bit crazy trying to do such things … and taking a real risk to damage my freshly rebuilt engine. But more than trying to reach a target of horsepowers I really like to go farther in my hobby.
If you don’t know where to start or feel not competent enough for this kind of stuff take no risks : leave to a professional !
